ISLAMABAD: Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui Sunday disclosed that Pakistan has not made even a single formal request in writing to the US for the repatriation of her sister Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
Addressing a news conference here, Dr. Fauzia complained that actually Pakistan Government is insensitive and not helpless on the issue of her sisters release.
She said the lawyers appointed for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui by Pakistan Ambassador in the US Hussain Haqqani have not contacted the latter even once.
Replying a query, Dr. Fauzia maintained that all government dignitaries including the Prime Minister only come up with false hopes.
If the US can seek assurance from Pakistan government while extraditing Hamesh Khan for not subjecting him to torture then what justification can the former present for continuing atrocities against Dr. Aafia, she asked.
