KHAIRPUR: At least five people drowned as their boat capsized in Nara Canal near Kathore area of Khairpur; however, three were rescued, Geo News reported Wednesday.
According to police sources, there were 14 aboard the boat who were crossing the Canal.
Five bodies have been retrieved from the canal.
The local people and police are taking part in the relief efforts.
Police officials said they are looking for six missing people.
