KARACHI: A meeting between representatives of Punjab and Sindh is underway here to discuss proposed construction of power project on Jhelum link canal.
According to sources, negotiations are underway in Chief Minister House. Secretary irrigation, Raja Riaz Zulfiqar Khosa and chief secretary representing Punjab whereas a delegation of Sindh comprised of Irrigation Minister Shuja Junejo, A N D Abbasi and Idrees Rajput.
Sindh already had difference with Punjab over water distribution issue and it also periodically expressed reservations on projects like Thar canal.
The project had already being discussed in Sindh Assembly session in which Sindh ministers had expressed their reservations and denounced the behavior of Punjab. Minister of irrigation Sindh said Chashma Jehlum link canal power project is not feasible.
