ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed has urged the government to stop confronting media and judiciary, which played a vital role for the cause of democracy.
Speaking to media persons in the federal capital today, he dispelled the impression that there was any threat to the government or democracy.
?The people of Karachi deserve salute for thwarting a plot aimed at starting sectarian and ethnic divide in the city,? said Mushahid.
He said the 25 percent of the country?s revenue was being collected from the arson-hit Boulton Market and termed it an assault on the country?s economy.
To a question, Syed said that he would support Altaf Hussain?s statement for framing an effective and comprehensive strategy against terrorism.
He also slammed Indian Defence Minister for giving irresponsible statement and demanded his remove.
He urged the government to take up this issue at the United Nations Security Council.
