KARACHI: In the light of evidences, the bomb blast at Ashura mourning procession on M.A Jinnah Road in Karachi, was a suicide attack, according to NWFP bomb disposable squad, Geo news reported.
The investigation, commenced shortly after bomb attack at Ashura procession on MA Jinnah Road, has not become result oriented even after collapse of one week.
It is pertinent to mention the Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik initially termed the blast as suicide attack and got the sketch of the head of suicide bomber released in media through investigation officials, however later on, it came to know that the head-sketch was of scout team member.
Subsequently, IG Sindh Babar Khatak denied accepting attack as suicide, saying, the bombing at Ashura procession was triggered through a planted device but Karachi Police Chief Waseem Ahmed together with the AIG of NWFP bomb disposable squad Shafqat Malik, in the light of evidences obtained from blast scene, once again dubbed the attack was suicide explosion.
Also, top NWFP police officials have clamed recovery of jacket pin and electronic chip used for carrying out suicide attack from explosion site.
