KARACHI: Shia scholars withdrew their protest call after holding a meeting with the Sindh home minister at the PPP Sindh Media Cell on Thursday.
Allama Mirza Yousaf Hussain, Allama Abbas Kumali, Hussain Mossadi, Syed Shabar Raza, Salman Mujataba , Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulifqar Mirza, Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza , Media Adviser to Sindh CM Waqar Mehdi , Rashid Rabbani and CCPO Wasim Ahmed attended the meeting .
Talking to media following the meeting, the Mirza said the government had completed 90 percent investigation of the tragic incident on the Ashura day.
He said the remaining investigation would be completed soon.
He disclosed that the culprits also wanted to carry out an attack on Muharram 7, but were unsuccessful. He said the government is also carrying out a separate inquiry into the arson incidents and target killings in the city.
He said that he would request the Sindh chief minister to increase the compensation for the victims of the Ashura day incident.
